Ian Kelly and Ron Schanze Present:Enhancing Clinical Understanding through Virtual Preceptorships
Live preceptorships were once the way that many sales representatives learned how physicians assess, diagnose, and make patient treatment decisions. Today, government and institutional regulations, as well as the high cost associated with preceptorship programs, have rendered these live experiences extinct for many in field sales. Fortunately, technology offers a risk-free and cost-effective alternative. Different from a virtual world, the virtual preceptorship environment provides a guided, yet interactive path through the preceptorship experience, allowing consistent training on clinical and treatment-related content for all sales representatives. This workshop will provide an in-depth look at the virtual preceptorship technology and how it enables learners to: observe interactions between health care providers and patients through patient case studies; receive a 360-degree view of the clinical situation through the perspectives of health care providers, patients, and the patients’ significant others; and complete interactive tutorials related to clinical content such as disease state information, diagnostic processes, treatment options, and product features and benefits.
The workshop will use demos from multiple virtual preceptorships across different therapeutic areas. Feedback and data on how these programs have been received in the field and lessons learned will also be shared.
